FISKEN FISCAL FACTS VOLUME 2
Dear Client/Colleague;
The purpose of this edition of the FISKEN FISCAL FACTS E-mail is to let you know that I will be conducting a Seminar on Taxation of Overseas Americans for the Association of PVO Financial Managers (APVOFM).
This will be the eighth consecutive year that this Seminar has been sponsored by APVOFM. There will be a new presenter this year: Deborah Cohn, Esquire of the law firm Paley Rothman. Deborah's presentation will treat "Estate Planning for Americans Married to Non-USA Citizens".
The Seminar will continue its core presentations of:
- Taxation of Overseas Americans-issues, forms, and update: conducted by Bernie Fisken of Fisken & Company, International Financial Management Consultants.
- Taxation of Foreign Nationals associated with PVOs in the USA: conducted by Claire Timmons of Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs.
- What does and does not go on the Form W2: conducted by Kate Fisken of Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs

The Seminar is particularly geared for Accounting and Human Resources Staff of organizations that have Americans posted overseas. Persons who have benefited from this Seminar in the past include CFO's, Controllers, Payroll Specialists, and HR personnel.
Areas to be covered include:
- Treatment of allowances, such as Housing and Education
- Treatment of Moving expenses
- Treatment of American consultants living overseas
- Adequate Accounting for employee expense reimbursements
- Qualifying for the Overseas Earned Income Exclusion under the 2 tests
- Organization's role in providing tax assistance to American staff overseas
- Dealing with state income tax issues for American staff posted overseas
Participants will receive a highly acclaimed Handbook containing tax forms, tax instructions, and considerable reference materials.
This one day Seminar will be conducted on Friday 3 December 2004 at the Carnegie Conference Center located at 1779 Massachusetts Avenue, NW Washington DC. The Carnegie building is conveniently located but 2 short blocks from Dupont Circle. The Metro Red Line has a Dupont Circle stop.
The Seminar qualifies for 7 units of CPE.
